Hi-rise dual barrel intakes on a hoodless nova? Yes. Yes it is.
Have some OG hi-rise intakes, these are adjustable, swappable parts:
Reason behind the modification (which, if I remember right, was pioneered by some guy in the 50s drag racing circuit) was to increase runner length to slow down pulse return times so higher VEs can be reached at higher RPMs, and then to also provide some cooling to the air as it travels down the intake. It's still a genius idea, if a little silly on a road car.
